Cecily Brennan is an artist, activist, campaigner and feminist. Her work is cross-disciplinary, concentrating on painting and film-making. She has exhibited widely nationally and internationally and is member of Aosdána.
She is one of the founders of the Artists’ Campaign to Repeal the Eighth Amendment alongside visual artists Eithne Jordan, Alice Maher and poet Paula Meehan.
Brennan feels that artists, as makers and skilled communicators, can, through their work, make an important contribution to debates on social, moral and cultural matters.
