Registration

09:00  -  10:00

We’ll be opening the doors at 9am, with most people arriving between 9.30 and 10am. When you arrive you’ll get a map and a schedule for the day, a list of any Speed Curating or Clinic bookings you’ve made and a wrist band so you can access all areas. When you arrive into the Great Hall, there’ll be tea, coffee and biscuits for everyone to get settled in.

Speed Curating – Morning (VAI Members Only)

Speed Curating Room (Curators marked "Full" are currently fully booked)

Choose from a list of 30 of the best curators in Ireland and Northern Ireland for one-on-one meetings. Selecting whom you would like to meet entitles you to 10 minutes with each curator – an opportunity to show them your work, present your ideas and make connections. This is a hugely popular event for curators and artists and has led to multiple exhibitions, working relationships, and collaborations. This books up fast, so get your slot quick! Open Studios | IMMA Residency Programme

IMMA Artists in Residence Dragana Jurisic and Neil Carroll Welcome Visitors to VAI’s Get Together in to their Studios. Photographer Dragana Jurisic has been living onsite at IMMA since December 2017 and is located in studio 3b. Painter Neil Carroll has just joined the programme and is taking up a studio only residency at IMMA, Neil is located in Studio 14. Both residencies were awarded through the IMMA 1000 Open Call. Lunch

The Great Hall

A light lunch of a variety of sandwiches and tea and coffee will be available on the day in The Great Hall. These will include gluten and lactose free options. Alternatively, there is a café downstairs in IMMA where you can purchase other options. There are also several locations beside IMMA, both in HSQ (Military Road) and around Kilmainham Gaol (Outside the Gate at the end of the Avenue). Suki Teas & Coffee from Peaches will be available during the day.

Moving Image | MExIndex Screening

All Day  -  16:30
Lecture Theatre

This year, Get Together will also host an all-day screening programme of new moving image works by members of MExIndex, curated by Fifi Smith. These four films, illustrate the rich cross section of contemporary artists moving image works registered in the MExIndex today. This screening also focuses on the range of artists methodology and strategies used in this area of the visual arts. The close observation revealed in these works, may perhaps, also give a glance at a possible zeitgeist in artists moving image works today.
