PS² (Belfast) have announced the appointment of Ciara Moloney as the Curator of the Freelands Artist Programme 2020-2022.
The PS² Freelands Artist Programme is an initiative funded by the Freelands Foundation that supports creative and professional development for emerging artists based in Northern Ireland, and fosters long term relationships and collaborations between artists and arts organisations.
Ciara Moloney is a curator, editor and writer based in Ireland. Prior to this, she was Curator at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery.
Recent exhibitions include Loitering is delightful, featuring work by Milano Chow, Lauren Davis Fisher, David Horvitz, Dylan Mira, Asha Schechter and Cauleen Smith, among others, as well as Mariah Garnett: Trouble and David Alekhuogie: Gravity.
She was previously Curator of Exhibitions and Projects at Modern Art Oxford where she organised exhibitions by Barbara Kruger, Josh Kline, Lynn Hershman Leeson, Christian Boltanski and Kiki Kogelnik.
She has written for publications including Art Review, Art in America, Flash Art, Art Papers, Apollo, Circa, CARLA and the Brooklyn Rail and edited numerous catalogues and artist monographs, including KALEIDOSCOPE: Modern Art Oxford’s 50th Anniversary, Jeremy Deller: Love Is Enough and Barbara Kruger.
Ciara Moloney is the 2nd curator after Alissa Kleist on this 2 yearly rotating position in our PS² Freelands Artist Programme.
